Platelet thrombosis syndrome.

چکیده
T HE PURPOSE of this paper is to report the clinical and pathologic manifestations of seven cases of the platelet thrombosis syndrome. In 1925 Moschowitz' first described a rapidly fatal disease characterized by fever, anemia, petechiae, neurologic signs and autopsy findings of generalized capillary and arteriolar hyaline thrombi. Since then approximately 45 cases have been reported,2-30 most of them within the past 10 years. Many synonyms for the disease have been suggested, such as "thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura,""' "thrombocytic acroangiothrombosis,"8 "thrombotic microangiopathic hemolytic anemia,"26 "disseminated arteriolar and capillary platelet thromboses,""'7 and "generalized blood platelet thrombosis."''4 Much of this nomenclature is either cumbersome or suggests features of the disease that are not invariably present. We believe the term "platelet thrombosis syndrome" to be the most satisfactory until the nature of the entity is more fully elucidated.

Sticky Platelet Syndrome in Patients with Uninduced Venous Thrombosis
OBJECTIVE Sticky platelet syndrome (SPS) is a common autosomal dominant inherited platelet disorder. SPS is characterized by platelet hyperreactivity and is associated with arterial and venous thrombosis. The aim of this study was to determine the role of SPS in patients with uninduced venous thrombosis. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study included 28 patients (15 male and 13 female) with uninduce...
متن کاملA case report of nephrotic syndrome with hemorrhage of intracerebral in cerebral venous thrombosis
Introduction: cerebral vein thrombosis is a rare complication of nephrotic syndrome (NS).We report a known case of NS with hemorrhagic thrombosis. Case report: A boy with previous history of NS was admitted with headache and decrease of level of consciousness and his brain images were revealed hemorrhagic thrombosis Conclusions: cerebral vein thrombosis must be considered in patients with...
متن کاملSticky platelet syndrome.
The sticky platelet syndrome (SPS) is an autosomal dominant platelet disorder associated with arterial and venous thromboembolic events. It is characterized by hyperaggregability of platelets in platelet-rich plasma with adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and epinephrine (type I), epinephrine alone (type II), or ADP alone (type III). Clinically, patients may present with angina pectoris, acute myocard...
متن کاملImaging of Clot by 99mTc-HMPAO Labeled Platelet in Animal Model Induced Thrombosis
99mTc-HMPAO labeled platelet (LP) imaging may integrate thrombosis imaging into routine clinical procedures. In the current study, we assessed the feasibility of the use of 99mTc-HMPAO LP for imaging of small clots in an animal model. Thrombosis was induced by application of FeCl3 solution in the distal part of the inferior vena cava (IVC) of a 6100 g anesthetiz...
